Role Overview:
Ekya Schools, founded in 2010, is a chain of progressive K-12 schools in Bangalore, India. The Ekya Learning Center is a team of dynamic, forward-thinking individuals that chart Ekya’s future steps. They bring research, pedagogical approaches and curricular advancements from around the world into Ekya classrooms. The Ekya Learning Center pilots and implements curricular changes and interventions through planning.

Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment:
- Possess expertise in specific learning areas
- Sustain growth and learning mindset
- Use research as a means to inform, build and design curriculum
- Implement the planned curriculum by designing learning plans based on a curricular framework
- Identify learning benchmarks for each grade level
- Create engaging and meaningful learning experiences that enhance understanding and application and are aligned with learning outcomes
- Create resources and supporting material/media (such as audio, video, simulations, role plays and games)
- Manage curriculum transitions between applicable blocks.
- Support teachers in planning appropriate strategies to achieve this.
- Conduct periodic audits in all schools for pedagogy, rigour and student learning.
- Visit all the campuses and learning spaces to understand context-specific needs and make a responsive curriculum.
- Manage updation of content on tech platforms for allotted grades.
- Design assessments and monitor and evaluate assessment data to identify performance trends and development issues.
- Develop and use tools to measure learning and gather evidence of the impact of introduced changes.
- Identify student progress levels throughout the schools and ensure teaching & learning strategies and resources are in place to meet high levels consistently.
Professional Development:
- Design and conduct workshops and teacher training modules for teachers
- Identify the gaps and learning area-specific needs of teachers and conduct training sessions for teachers
- If applicable, share and participate in Board-specific workshops to keep the schools updated about upcoming changes.
- Attend, identify and coordinate workshops that would upskill self in the field of Curriculum Development.
- Review/Attend new teacher demos and review candidate learning plans.
Team Responsibilities:
- Manage the tasks allotted and ensure that deadlines are met.
- Support the Associate manager in any other daily tasks that might be required of you as a member of the ELC team.
- Report to the Associate manager every week with task progress.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Knowledge about core issues in curriculum, pedagogy, and assessments
- Experience in instructional design and with instructional technology
- Keen understanding of the Indian education scenario and key issues in education
- Outstanding organisational and communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise, multi-task, and lead by example
- Tech-savvy individual willing to learn new tools and technology platforms.
- Willingness to travel extensively across all CMR K-12 and Ekya campuses.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 5-7 years of instructional design experience
- Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate in specific learning areas is preferred
- International work experience or experience in designing learning solutions for global audiences across different geographies will be a plus.
